"The Other Maine" is located in Maine's northernmost town of Madawaska, Maine in the St. John River Valley—bordering the Canadian province of New Brunswick. We hand built our cabins from wood harvested right on our land. A lot of sweat equity has gone into our property to make it a one-of-a-kind experience. We hope you enjoy your stay as much
as we have enjoyed creating this wonderful retreat for you.
This is more than just a great place to stay, it is a true Maine experience. Although our cabins have different charms, there are things that all of our guests enjoy because of what is available on the property.

“We began visiting "The Other Maine" while it was being built several years ago and we have not stopped going back ever since. The Moose Chateau is our comfy, cozy, stress-free haven. It's full of goodness and genuine hospitality. The cabin's attention to detail makes each visit an effortless, seamless, and worry free experience that cannot be matched by any other. My children enjoy sledding on the groomed trail (that Dan provides for all without fail ), which leads right to the ITS snowmobile trail system near the cabin. Whether it's a snowmobile ride to Rosette's for breakfast, or a blast over to the Lakeview Lounge for lunch, all trails lead back to The Other Maine. But it's not just the outdoor fun, it's indoor fun too. Every year we bounce "bouncy balls" down the stairs, take hot soaks in the loft tub, and watch TV on channels we don't even receive at home. All of this is accompanied by the breath-taking view seen all day long and sitting by the amazing fire place, which we all love to no end. We have even named the big moose watching over the cabin as 'Jared'! My family and I look forward to this vacation every year. The life-long memories are priceless!
